Architectural Mesoamerican Ballgame hoop
Unknown Mesoamerican architect
It is believed that basketball originated from the discovery of these hoops in architectural findings throughout Central and South America, despite the claim that a peach basket was the original hoop (look, it doesn’t make any sense). It Is easy to recall the similarities between the precolonial and the modern game as the hoop looks almost as if it is the same one used in regulation basketball; however, it is actually oriented sideways, unlike the one used by the Sacramento Kings and the Boston Celtics.
