Unknown sculpture pulled from the deepest part of the Bay
Unknown artist
This sculpture was found in over four feet of water not too far off the coast of San Francisco during a Dungeness crab harvesting. While the details of the sculpture are unknown, including who made it and why it was deposited in the Bay’s waters, it seems to be wrapped in heavy chain that was once attached to another heavier item such as a cinderblock to ensure it would stay down. Regardless of this piece’s foggy history, it is a marvelous piece and is presumed to have once been on a blank, white, potentially marble pedestal, as it would be odd to be placed on any other kind of pedestal with words, Twinkie imprints, and faux gunshot wounds.
