Summertime: Group Show, NYC
To celebrate the coming of Summer at Mott Street, the Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery presents an international group show, featuring works on paper and canvas as well as digital prints and sculpture.
Coinciding with his London exhibition, a selection of Morten Lassen's paintings will be on display. Using oil and spray on Belgian linen, the Danish abstract artist explores the collision between the natural and digital worlds. Joining these works will be oil paintings by Queensland painter Allyson Reynolds and mixed media on canvas pieces from Canadian artist Emily Filler.
Jackie Case will be represented by a collection of her intricate graphite drawings, and Mersuka Dopazo and Teresa Calderón's pigment and paper collaged figures will also be on view. Canadian sculptor Ross Bonfanti's concrete animals will complement the exhibition's various textures.
The exhibition will also feature works by London-based artists Phil Shaw and Rose Blake. Shaw will be represented by his London New York Paris Moscow bookshelf, in which each shelf represents a different international subway line through the arrangement of its titles. This will be joined by a selection of Rose Blake's museum scenes, all of which are hand-finished with collage, gouache and signwriter's polymer.
