Interference: Morten Lassen

In his latest collection, Interference, Danish painter Morten Lassen continues to explore the interplay between the digital and the natural worlds. Yet rather than suggesting tension at their point of collision, he visualises a more harmonious fusion between the two states.

Through rich layers of oil and aerated paints, Lassen brings together razor-edged blacks with electric neons, organic scratches and scribbles, loosely-worked colour and open white. Unlike his earlier series, which saw the flow of colour punctuated by vast black spaces, Lassen's latest paintings capture a synergy between the electric and the organic which is more meditative, with each bringing the other closer to a unification.

The exhibition, featuring works on paper and canvas, also marks the launch of Lassen’s first book on his work, which offers collectors an insight into the processes and philosophy behind his paintings.

Lassen's work has an international following. In 2011 the Wall Street Journal - in an article on contemporary Fine Art investment - hailed him as an artist 'to watch'. He has paintings in many public and corporate collections including Danske Advokater, the Ministry of the Interior and Health, IBO, Herlev, Den Danske Bank, Haderslev and Ålborg Universitet.
