Dame Jane Goodall DBE: in conversation with Jim Naughten

2 March 2023

A talk given by UN Messenger of Peace and world-renowned ethologist Dame Jane Goodall, DBE, in conversation with Jim Naughten, on the topic of environmental activism and conservation.

To celebrate the opening of Naughten’s exhibition Eremozoic II - centered around the perilous state of our current natural world - Goodall and Naughten discussed changemaking in the face of our present-day climate emergency.

Goodall and Naughten also signed a limited edition of four Orangutans and four Bear prints, and 100% of the sale proceeds have been donated to the Jane Goodall Institute UK, a community conserva1on charity that supports community-led conserva1on projects and JGI chimpanzee sanctuaries in the Republic of Congo, Senegal, South Africa, and Uganda. The charity also empowers young people in the UK to become compassionate changemakers through its free environmental and humanitarian schools programme, ‘Roots & Shoots.’

Jim Naughten's extraordinary and eye-catching photography brings us up close to some of the glorious animals with whom we share the planet, many of whom face extinction due to human actions. It is obvious that Jim is deeply connected with his subjects, and these photos will surely cause many to wake up to the importance of protecting the natural world. How wonderful that Jim is generously allowing his work to benefit the conservation and educational programmes of the Jane Goodall Institute UK through his exhibition, Eremozoic II, at the Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery.'
