Takariya Napaltjarri was born in the desert c. 1960. She has painted for the Warlayirti Artists at Balgo Hills, as well as for Papunya Tula.
This painting depicts designs associated with the rock hole and soakage water site of Ngaminya, just to the south of the Kiwirrkura Community. The 'U' shapes represent a group of women who camped at this site before traveling to Lake Mackay. As they travelled they gathered the edible berries known as kampurarrpa or desert raisin from the small shrub, Solanum centrale.
